What a peculiar time to start a travel blog.  You might think it seems counterintuitive since it’s not a great time to travel (unless, of course, you are one of those plandemic people), but I think we all have been stuck at home and not on airplanes for long enough that we could use some travel inspiration for when that sweet sweet vaccine comes around and social distancing just becomes my personal preference.  And what better way to dream about and plan some travel than with a list of our favoritest, creamiest, most delicious-est ice cream shops around the world!  So let’s get dreamy and ice creamy…

Stop #1 – Carmela – Pasadena, CA

In a city that is full of fake everything, this little ice cream shop just outside of LA is the real deal.  Jessica and Zach, the owners that stay inexplicably skinny after making ice cream for 13 years – how do they do it?? – are so welcoming, friendly, and while not only making one of the best ice creams in the greater LA area, also create such an inviting environment.

Scoping out the flavor section of their website always has me drooling.  Partly because it’s time for second lunch right now, but mostly because they have flavors like Brown Butter Sage, Roasted Sweet Potato, Candied Pecan, and a delightful array of sorbets that I’m fairly certain are made of rainbows and children’s dreams.

A few years ago, I had the pleasure of taking one of their in-house classes and highly recommend it if you are in the area.  They make it fun, funny, and funky.  Well, maybe not funky, but I needed another word that started with fun.
